Lake & Boat Rules
Safe skiing starts with all of us.

Moree Water Park is a shared community facility. All Boat Permit holders, drivers, skiers and guests are expected to use the lakes safely, respect other users and help protect the facilities.
The information below is a summary of our key lake rules. Full Boat Permit Terms & Conditions and Club Rules are provided with the Boat Permit application and must be read, understood and agreed to as part of your application.
Before You Launch

All powered vessels must have a current MWSC Boat or Jet Ski Permit before launching.
Your current annual permit sticker must be displayed either by your registration sticker or on the starboard (right) windscreen of the vessel so can be viewed from shore. Not having your rego attached is the same as not having a permit.
Drivers must hold the appropriate current NSW boating or PWC licence.
Boat owners are responsible for ensuring anyone driving their vessel is appropriately licensed and proficient.
All boats must hold Third Party Waterskiers Liability Insurance with a minimum $10 million public liability cover. Check that your policy covers the activities you participate in, including barefoot skiing where applicable.
All vessels must comply with the terms and conditions of their MWSC Boat Permit.
Lake Capacity

East-West Lake
Maximum 1 boat at any time.
North-South Lake
Maximum 1 boat at any time.
Circuit Lake
Maximum 5 powered vessels at any time.
Bookings and lake capacities must be respected at all times.
On the Water

An appropriately aged observer must always be present when waterskiing, in accordance with current NSW requirements.
All waterskiers must wear an approved buoyancy suit or life vest.
Children under 10 must wear a life jacket whenever swimming or in/on a vessel.
A maximum of two skiers may be towed at one time.
On the Circuit Lake, travel anti-clockwise and remain as close as practicable to the right of centre.
Never ski directly across the lake.
Give other vessels plenty of room when overtaking or being overtaken.
When a skier falls, retrieve the rope and return safely to the skier. No power turns.
Boom bars must be brought in when not in use.
Outgoing or stationary vessels must give way to incoming or moving vessels.
Non-powered vessels have right of way on the Circuit Lake. Powered vessels must keep well clear.
Our lakes and banks require care to keep them in great condition.
Tubes and other non-controllable towable water toys are not permitted on the East-West or North-South Lakes.
Ballast and wake-enhancement devices are not permitted on the East-West or North-South Lakes.
Limited use of ballast/wake-enhancement devices is permitted in the middle of the Circuit Lake, away from the banks.
Refuelling is not permitted while a vessel is on lake waters.
Boats must only be launched and retrieved using designated boat ramps.
Take all rubbish with you or use bins where provided.
Please respect docks, shelters, courses, ramps and all other Club facilities and equipment.

Protecting Our Lakes
Take particular care when approaching or passing boat docks.
When dropping a skier near a dock, keep your boat as far from the dock as safely practicable and maintain appropriate speed past the end of the dock to minimise wash and prevent damage to vessels.

Around the Docks
All lake users must follow reasonable directions given by the Lake Coordinator, NSW Police or an authorised representative of Moree Water Park.
Every skier, driver and vessel owner is responsible for understanding their surroundings, operating safely and taking reasonable care while participating in water-based activities.
